Adam Wagler

Adam Wagler

Adam Wagler is a Lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications. He currently teaches Strategic Communication Graphics, New Media Design, and Visual Literacy courses in the college’s advertising sequence. Adam also works as the Design Specialist for a grant funded project called Strategic Discussions for Nebraska. Its mission is to promote discussions in communities throughout the state about vital national issues that affect Nebraska and the people who live here. Adam shoots and edits video, designs the printed magazines, maintains the website (www.unl.edu/sdn), and creates all other promotional materials for the project. He also maintains the College of Journalism and Mass Communications’ website (www.unl.edu/journalsim).

Currently, he is working on a website for a Science Education Partnership Award project. The World of Viruses is an integrated educational media initiative to teach the public about cutting-edge virology research. He also worked with NET and a CoJMC class on a website for The Ethanol Maze. The documentary looked at how production of the corn-based fuel affects food prices and the rural economy.

Adam began his career in Des Moines, Iowa and worked in Tucson, Arizona before moving to Nebraska. He also works as a freelance designer for his company, Wagler Designs, which produces both electronic and print graphics for a variety of clients.

Adam graduated from Iowa State University's College of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Visual Studies. His degree had an emphasis in Drawing, Photography, & Computer Graphics and included a semester abroad at the University of Wales, Swansea. He is currently finishing his master's degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
