Deb Brown
Assistant Professor
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Dr. Deborah M. Brown is an Assistant Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a member of the Nebraska Center for Virology. Dr. Brown has a background in cellular immunity and is a trained immunologist. Her research focuses on the host immune response to viral infections.
Dr. Brown received her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Rochester Medical Center where she studied the role of CD4 T cells in the immune response to tumors. Her post-doctoral work at the Trudeau Institute examined the role of CD4 T cells in response to influenza infection.
In addition to her involvement in research, she offers her contributions by lecturing the Immunology class at UNL and training students in research. Dr. Brown’s current research is aimed at understanding the mechanistic basis for the immune response to viruses in order to design better vaccines that protect against lethal infections.
