BAT: NO. THAT’S SILLY…
BAT: …LIKE SPREADING DISEASE TO PEOPLE!
Panel two: PROFESSOR IS PULLING DOWN A SCREEN FROM THE TOP OF THE PANEL.
PROFESSOR: THESE DISEASES ARE CAUSED BY VIRUSES CARRIED BY BATS.
PROFESSOR: THEY ARE VERY DANGEROUS TO HUMANS…
Strip One
Panel one: THE SCREEN IS DOWN.THERE ARE IMAGES OF BATS WITH NECK PLAQUES THAT SAY MARBURG, RABIES, NIPAH. THE PROFESSOR HOLDS FORTH. CAT AND BAT LOOK ON.

PROFESSOR: …OR OTHER ANIMALS INFECTED BY BATS.
CAT: NIPAH?
Panel two: PROFESSOR RIPS A HOLE IN THE PAGE.
PROFESSOR: COME WITH ME.

BAT: BUT WHY DON’T THE VIRUSES MAKEBATS SICK?
Panel two: LONG SHOT OF THE PROFESSOR AND CAT WALKING AWAY AND BAT FLYING AWAY TOGETHER.
PROFESSOR: YOU BATS ARE MAMMALS… JUST LIKE PEOPLE.
PROFESSOR: …SO YOU TOO HAVE AN IMMUNE SYSTEM.
BAT: REALLY? WOW.
PROFESSOR: AND SCIENTISTS THINK YOURS IS MORE TOLERANT OF VIRUSES.
Panel three: CLOSER ON BAT, PROFESSOR, CAT.
BAT: I THOUGHT IMMUNE SYSTEMS WERE SUPPOSED TO FIGHTVIRUSES…
